We are the Knights who say "knee"

Yes, I know it's spelled "Ni", but heres the story...

It had been raining much of the day yesterday, and of course as a result the ground was wet. I tell you this, because last night I went outside to have a smoke, and upon entering the house, my wet shoe slipped on the tile and I landed full force on my right knee. Nothing is broken, but it hurts like mo-fo. I am hobbling around today, but I really think it will be in better shape tomorrow.
Because my job requires me to be on my feet, I had to call in. Not something I like to do at all. But, I do not want to risk making it worse either.
What a Stu is I!! LOL

Party preparations are almost complete, but there is still plenty to do. Heather and I both have our costumes completed, but I don't know about Beau. He either has something planned and has not told me, or he doesn't have a clue. LOL
You would think, considering we do this every year, that we would have our costumes planned out way in advance. But for some reason, we both usually do not have anything planned until the last minute. This year especially, since with all my surgeries, the year seemed to fly by even faster than normal. Oh well, no matter, we will all have a blast no matter what we are wearing.

Finally defunkified

Yesterday was a gorgeous sunny and warm day. I got quite a bit done. Cleaned the house, finished finding all I need for my costumefor thie weekends party and then I took a nap. Todays weather has been dark, drizzly and downright crappy. As a result, I slept in way to late, which of course caused me to feel like shit for hours. Even so, I did somehow manage to drag my ass out of the house and get the last of the party shopping done.

I will be honest. I almost canceled this years party due to complete and udder apathy. This year has been so full of suck, I just found it hard to get motivated. But, then I thought, we ALL need this party. We need a blow out. A reason to shout "Fuck it!! Let's have some fun!!" Now I am really geared up and looking forward to it again. Even the cats seem to be in an extra fun mood.

FYI...

So, I have been feeling pretty crappy the last couple of days, so I broke down and took a trip to the walk in clinic this morning. Turns out I have a mild case of bronchial pneumonia, and another sinus infection.

Will the joy never end?

OK OK OK, all that crap aside. My Halloween bash will be on the 21st this year. That gives us all about 3 weeks to pick our costumes. I still have no idea what I am going to do. I do this every year. I say "This year I am going to plan ahead!" then I usually pull something outta my ass at the last minute. LOL. Any ideas for a clueless Ville?

Snozwanglingflapdoodledingdangwangdoozie

Wow. Saturday night was a total blast!

After a good old American feast of hot dogs and hamburgers, we all went out on the patio to indulge in our right to party. (Beastie Boys said so) Boy, did we ever excercise our rights. We made up stupid shit, sang some songs, and had a whole lot of laughs. I don't remember going to bed, but I do remember waking up at 11 a.m. and feeling like someone kicked me in the gut and smashed me in the head. Not to mention the dizziness and nausea. I went back to bed and crawled up around 3 pm feeling much better. Man, I haven't put a hurtin' on myself like that in a very very long time. And I don't plan on doing it again anytime soon.

But MAN we had fun!!!!

We never even cut the watermelon

Had a BBQ on Sunday. We had such a great time! At least I think we did. I know I did. I hope everyone did. We cued 3 big ol slabs of meat and had beans, bread, deviled eggs and the obligatory veggie trays. Surprisingly, most of the veggies got eaten which is kind of unusual.
All the usual suspects attended, Steph and Lynette and their three teens, Lauren, Heather and Nathan. Megan came down from Kansas. Lashell made it just as we sat down to eat and it made the evening perfectly well rounded.

After dinner we all sat out on the patio with our respective drinks and "did the weirds". We played hangman, drew silly (not to mention disgusting) pictures and made up silly songs. We laughed and carried on. Just like the good old days. I had gone out and found a seeded water melon so that we could have a seed spitting contest, but we got too busy being stupid, that we never even cut the water melon. Oh well!! Thanks everybody for making this weekend so fun and memorable!!

Mozartballs

Friday night is the private screening party for the film documentary "Mozartballs". I am so excited. Not JUST because my dearest friend, Steph and his wife, Lynette are the featured cast, but also because they really do throw the best parties. He posted his gastronimic itinerary on his blog this morning and it looks like quite the feast! Also, since moving to Stillwater, I have made so many new friends. Dr. Scott will be there. He is a professor of music history at OSU. Also, another friend I met only recently. His name is Jaeson and he is an old friend of Lynette's from high school. Of course Beau will be with me and another new edition to my friendship repertoire, Lashell. I met Lashell last July when I started my job at Express Personnel. We became fast friends and I think we will be for our lifetimes. Yeah, she's a keeper.

Anyway, after living virtually alone for 6 months last Fall/Winter, it's so nice to be able to make plans!!! Yay! It's a party.

Somewhere, Beyond The Sea

Last night was a scream!!! Went to Steph and Nettl's to participate in the b-day celebration of one of Nettl's co-workers. Jacey is her name. She is a laugh riot. This girl has only just (today) turned 23 and has already overcome cancer. Her attitude toward life is such an inspiration. She brough her BF Mica, who is 7 years her senior. He seems like a really decent and genuine human being. We all had a great time. Of course I was coerced into singing the standard duet with Steph (Fake Mammaries), which is always good for a larf.

J and M took off around 11:30-ish and S and N and I stayed out on the back patio listening to old standards and singning and dancing til after midnight. We had such a good time. I stayed the night there, and around 11 a.m. I slimed out of bed.

Steph and I watched the Kevin Spacey movie "Beyond the Sea" which is a movie depicting the life and death of Bobby Darin. Great film. Besides the fact that I am already a great fan of Spacey, I also love the whole Las Vegas campy lounge acts. I loved this movie. I heartily reccomend it.

Anyway, I finally got home today around 1:30. Beau got home just around 2 and we took a nap til almost 5. Cripes, I have not slept all day in a long long time. I loved it!!!
